gift in a jar

The mini jar is just the right size for small gifts in a jar. At just under 100 ml, small gifts fit in particularly well and can then be used as a spice jar. Do you know our cocoa mix in a mini jar, for example? We put it under the tree almost every year.

Masala Chai tea blend

What you need:
  • 1 Mini Jar
  • 1 teaspoon dried ginger
  • 10 green cardamom
  • 6 cloves
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 teaspoons of black tea
  • (brown sugar, water and milk)
And here's how it works: Fill all the ingredients layer by layer into the mini glass . You can also attach a chalkboard sticker to the lid and write a nice greeting or the contents with a chalk pen . Tie a bow around it - your tea mixture is ready as a gift in a glass . The mixture is intended for about 4 cups of Chai Masala (total: about 1 l). You can of course fill the mini jar with twice the amount - depending on what you want to give as a gift.

Here’s how to make Masala Chai tea properly:

We don't grind real chai tea - all the ingredients, except the tea, are boiled together with water and milk and the spices are later collected in a sieve. A lot of sugar is also needed for a chai masala: use around 50 g of brown sugar per 250 ml - you can of course adjust this to suit your taste. Traditionally it is very sweet. We deliberately did not put it in the mixture above - this way the level of sweetness can be adjusted to suit your individual needs. Put 750 ml of water and 250 ml of milk in a saucepan and bring the mixture to the boil. Now add the sugar and spices and let it simmer on a low heat with the lid open for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, add the black tea, boil it again for 1 minute and then let it rest for another 2 minutes. Strain the spices and tea through a fine sieve. Your Masala Chai tea is ready.
