Batch Cooking Day 2: Chili sin Carne

Today we're cooking a delicious dish together: Chilli sin Carne! We already prepared the basics for this recipe on Prep Day. If you missed it, don't worry! Just take another look at the blog post and then let's get started together - have fun cooking!

The recipe: Chilli sin Carne

Enough for 2 meals, approx. 4-6 portions

Ingredients:

  • 400 ml tomato sauce (strained)
  • 250 ml of water
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 500 g cooked kidney beans
  • 150 g fine soy shreds
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika powder
  • 2 limes
  • 1 garlic clove (1.5 tsp garlic paste)
  • 100 g creme fraiche
  • 250 - 300 g white rice (approx. 60 g per person)
  • salt, pepper
  • Chili powder according to taste & spiciness

Preparation:

  1. Soak the soya strips in vegetable broth and water for about 15 minutes according to the instructions and then drain

    Intermediate step : Please note that we cook about 60 g of additional white rice and store it in the fridge to use later for the tacos on day 5 of our batch cooking plan.

  2. Cook rice while
  3. Fry the soya strips together with olive oil, onions and garlic + 1 tablespoon smoked paprika powder
  4. Deglaze with tomato sauce and water
  5. Add paprika, lime juice, 1 tbsp smoked paprika powder
  6. simmer everything for about 15 minutes
  7. Add kidney beans, cook for 5 minutes

Our Chilli sin Carne is characterized by a wonderfully spicy note and a juicy consistency. That's why we use it generously with tomato sauce to bring out the flavors particularly intensely - super delicious!
