Organizing Supplies and Spices - #2 Getting Organized

Order is half the battle! Today we start the second part of our series: "Get Organized #2" - sorting and organizing supplies and spices.

There is nothing better than tidy and well-organized kitchen drawers. Once you start, cooking and baking is twice as much fun. The most important thing for a well-organized pantry or spice rack is the right containers and labeling . Just sort everything out, relabel it and fill it into jars - and off you go.

Which jar should I use for supplies?

Our favorite storage jars with airtight lids are the Oleni Mason Jars with wide openings. You can easily remove any ingredient from them - with a measuring spoon or by pouring directly from the jar:

Oleni Mason Jar 0.3 l :

  • Chia seeds, small nuts, salt

Oleni Mason Jar 0.5 l :

  • Nuts, legumes, toppings, salt, tea, coffee

Oleni Mason Jar 0.75 l :

  • rice, couscous, oatmeal

Oleni Mason Jar 1 l :

  • Granola, flour, sugar, pasta

Tips for organizing supplies

  1. Organize supplies according to use and frequency.

  2. Divide them into categories such as legumes, nuts, baking ingredients like flour and sugar.

  3. Label the lid. We have matching storage stickers with over 50 labels ready to go.

Why store supplies in glass instead of plastic:

In contrast to plastic, glass is completely tasteless and odorless . Wash it once and keep using it. In addition, no plasticizers or microplastics can get into food through the material.

Our Mason Jar glasses are 100% moth-proof . The two-part, airtight lid means that small food moths have no chance of getting into the jar.

In the glass, you can see all the ingredients at a glance or label them using a chalkboard paint lid . Everything looks uniform and no longer needs to be hidden in the kitchen cupboard.

Which jar for spices?

It's clear: our mini jar glass is not only super pretty on the spice rack, but at just under 130 ml it is also the perfect size for spices. The small mini jar glass with stainless steel lid can also be combined with our spice lids or the lid can be extended with a chalkboard sticker for writing on.

Tips for arranging spices

  • arrange alphabetically

  • by categories such as baking ingredients, coffee & tea, cooking ingredients

  • by cuisine such as Mediterranean or Asian cuisine

To keep track of the best-before date, simply write the expiration date on the bottom of the glass with a chalk pen.

And now it's time to get your supplies and spices. With our pantry starter set or spice cabinet starter set you have the perfect basic equipment and can get started right away.
