And here's how it works: Wash the lemons and cut off one end. Then cut into quarters. Only cut deep enough to "open" the lemon, but do not cut through. Put 1 tablespoon of salt and a little sugar (optional) into the opening and place the lemons in the glass. Add bay leaves and then pour boiling water into the glass. Weigh down the lemons with the glass weight and close with the one-piece lid | stainless steel . Now leave the salted lemons for 2-3 weeks.
