Make your own makeup remover
Plastic in the bathroom - we use a lot of plastic in the bathroom in particular: shampoo, hand soap, body lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant... the list is long. We women in particular often produce an incredible amount of packaging waste through cosmetics - without thinking about it first. Lipstick, make-up, powder, mascara... almost all of us have these items at home.
Not only does the packaging often consist of poorly (or not at all) recyclable or natural materials such as (micro)plastics.

Sustainability doesn't just mean reducing packaging waste, but also taking a closer look at the ingredients. Creams, peelings and similar bathroom products often contain plastic or synthetic substances. For us, the absolute guiding principle is that we only put on our skin what we would eat. There are such wonderful, absolutely effective alternatives.
Reducing plastic waste or packaging waste is an issue, especially in the bathroom, that can be implemented very easily with a little knowledge and time. Today we'll show you how to easily make your own (eye) make-up remover . Yes, it's possible! And it doesn't even take 30 seconds, is completely natural and 100% effective.
Together with the Mason Jar pourer, you can measure out the make-up remover perfectly - and if necessary, transport it with the airtight lid on the jar. In the small Ball Mason Jar | Regular | 240 ml you also have a pretty eye-catcher in the bathroom :)
By the way, all the ingredients for zero-waste cosmetics, both rose water and apricot oil, are available in glass packaging :) Not packaging-free - but much more importantly, the packaging can be sustainably broken down and does not float in the sea for 50 years like plastic.Make your own makeup remover
What you need: (for 120 ml)
- 1 Ball Mason Jar | Regular | 240ml
- 1 pourer | black
- 40 ml rose water
- 40 ml apricot kernel oil
- 1 teaspoon of vitamin E
Mix the rose water and with the apricot kernel oil and 1 teaspoon of vitamin E. Because oil is lighter, it does not combine with the water - simply shake before use and remove the make-up with a cotton pad. It is also great for removing mascara and eye make-up.
Tip: rose water is a particularly mild toner - that's all you need. Simply clean your face with a cotton pad and rose water.
Next time we will show you how you can use cotton pads more sustainably.
