Last minute idea for a relaxed Easter brunch
Easter is just around the corner. So that you can enjoy a relaxed holiday with your loved ones, we have a great food hack for you today. You can easily prepare delicious pancakes and freeze them in the stainless steel ice cube tray . This is a quick and easy way to do it on Easter morning.
Make it easy for yourself: Easter brunch without stress
Prepare the dough, fill it into the ice cube tray and freeze it. For breakfast, simply put the portioned cubes directly into the pan with a little oil and fry the pancakes. Nothing needs to be defrosted beforehand. Very simple, quick and guaranteed to be delicious!
The cubes mean you can make just as many pancakes as you will eat. If you have a few cubes left over, just put them in an Oleni jar and put them back in the freezer.
You can use the jars to freeze leftovers . It is important to remember that you should leave at least two fingers' width of space between the lid and the lid and only place it loosely on top. More information about freezing in jars can be found here .
Maple syrup perfectly dosed!
What should definitely not be missing from pancakes? That's right - maple syrup! The syrup is easy to measure out using our pourer for the Mason jar. Not only is it really practical , it also looks great on the breakfast table.
In keeping with Easter, you can make a cute Easter bunny out of the pancakes. It's really easy: cut out two oval "ears" and two small triangles for the nose from a round pancake.
Mr. Easter Bunny on the Plate
Then arrange them on a plate with another round pancake and place two blueberries as eyes, two mini marshmallows as teeth and two raspberries as a bow tie. Tadaa - the cute Easter bunny is ready. Definitely an eye-catcher for young and old.
Recipe: Pancakes
This is what you need:- 50 g butter or margarine
- 300 g (plant-based) milk
- 2 eggs / egg substitute
- 30 g sugar
- 200 g flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- ice cube tray
And here's how it works:
1. Melt the butter or margarine in a saucepan or in the microwave on a low setting.
2. Mix all ingredients together and stir into a smooth dough.
3. Pour the dough into the ice cube tray and put the insert in. Once it has cooled down a bit, you can put the tray in the freezer and after a few hours the cubes will be solid.
4. Once the cubes have solidified after a few hours, you can pour them into an Oleni glass. This way you can use the ice cube tray again straight away for something new.
5. To fry the pancakes: Put some oil or butter in a pan and heat it on a medium heat. You can then simply put the pancake cubes into the hot pan while they are still frozen and fry them straight away. There is no need to defrost them first. Fry the pancakes for 1-2 minutes on one side until bubbles form, then turn them over and fry the other side for another minute until they are golden brown on both sides.
Bon appetite!
