Happy Nikolaus

On December 6th, it is customary in Austria, Germany and other countries to put boots in front of the door on St. Nicholas Day so that St. Nicholas knows where to give the presents. Sometimes the tall man with the white beard and red clothes comes into the house, tells stories and has a few personal words for each child. Usually the presents are packed in small bags and given to the children. This year we have thought of a more modern and sustainable version: St. Nicholas in a FAVORITE JAR .

Santa Claus in a Glass

St. Nicholas tradition

Before the children receive their little gifts from Santa Claus in the jute sack, they like to recite a song or a poem. The sparkle in the children's eyes when everyone applauds, they are praised and Santa Claus slowly takes a reward out of his jute sack is incomparable.

What shouldn’t be missing from Santa’s glass?

As is traditional, peanuts, walnuts, tangerines, oranges and chocolate are given out on December 6th. The children will definitely be especially happy about little things like a stuffed animal, paint or a book. For our Santa Claus FAVORITE JAR you need: Fill the Ball Mason jar with all the treats you would like to have in it. The chalkboard paint lid makes the gift even more personal. You can write a little message on it, "Happy Santa Claus" or "For Anna, for example" - that way there is no risk of confusion if you hand out several Santa Claus jars :-)

Personalized Santa Claus Glass

After December 6th, when everything has been eaten, your loved ones can continue to use the jar as a lunchbox or store other things in it. Simply wipe the chalkboard paint lid with a damp cloth and re-label it. This way, your children will learn from a young age to reuse things and find new uses for them! Kill two birds with one stone :-) Happy St. Nicholas!
