What you need: Dough:
  • 200ml milk
  • 200ml water
  • 150ml oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 yeast cube
  • about 800g flour
Lye water:
  • 2 liters of water
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 6 tablespoons of baking soda
And here's how it works: For the dough, crumble the yeast into a bowl, mix with the sugar and some of the water, and let it rise for 10 minutes. Knead the flour, salt, oil, water and dissolved yeast into a smooth dough. Form the dough into a ball and cover and let it rise for about 40 minutes until the dough has doubled in volume. In the meantime, fill the salt into your Ball Mason Jar | Mini Jar and label it with the chalkboard paint sticker . Knead the dough well again, form it into a roll and divide it into 9 equal pieces. Form the dough pieces into balls and cover and let rise for another 20 minutes. To form the pretzels, roll the ball into strands about 45 cm long. The middle should be a little thicker than the ends. Twist the strands once and press the ends onto the other side. Place the formed pretzels on a baking tray lined with baking paper and leave to rise for 10 minutes. For the baking soda solution, bring the water to the boil, then reduce the heat until it stops boiling and then carefully add the baking soda and salt. Place the pretzels on a slotted spoon and then place them in the hot solution for about 30 seconds. Then place the pretzels back on the baking tray and sprinkle with some coarse sea salt. Bake the pretzel in a preheated oven at 180 degrees top and bottom heat for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Give as a gift together with the salt in your FAVORITE JAR .
