Batch Cooking Day 3: Avocado Toast with Halloumi and Pickled Onions

Today is day 3 of our batch cooking weekly plan. Today we are preparing a delicious avocado toast with halloumi and pickled onions. The perfect mix of creamy avocado, hearty halloumi and spicy pickled onions awaits you. The preparation is simple and efficient, especially since we already prepared some ingredients on Prep Day. The recipe: Avocado Toast with Halloumi and Pickled Onions

Enough for about 2-3 loaves

Ingredients:

  • sourdough bread
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/2 halloumi
  • 1 lime
  • Pickled Onions
  • salt, pepper

Directions:

  1. Cut the bread into slices and optionally toast or fry briefly.

    Intermediate step:

    For the tacos we cook on day 5 of our batch cooking plan, we make a little more avocado cream.

    • 1 additional avocado
    • 1 extra lime
    • salt and pepper as needed


  2. Prepare avocado cream:

    • Finely mash the avocado with a fork.
    • Add lime juice.
    • Season with salt and pepper.
    • Keep the remaining avocado cream in the jar for the tacos the next day.

  3. Cut the halloumi into thick slices and fry in a pan with a little oil.

  4. Top sourdough bread with avocado cream, halloumi and pickled onions and enjoy!
