Advent calendar as a candle
The Christmas countdown starts in 2 weeks - are you ready? Instead of small gifts like in the classic Advent calendar, this year we have a very special Advent calendar: a candle for 24 days .
There is something meditative about an Advent calendar candle : a little "me time" moment every day, watching the candle flicker and making the days until Christmas shorter.
Make your own Advent candle - very easy in your FAVORITE JAR
The liquid soy wax is yellow, the candle is later dried to a beautiful white
Fix the wick with a stick - this way it stays in the middle and does not fall into the wax.
24 days until Christmas - the countdown begins
While the candle wax is melting, mark the days from 1-24 on your glass . Here we have used a Uni Posca marker again - it is basically waterproof and permanent - but in our experience it can be easily removed with water and a little scrubbing.
Now pour the melted wax into your FAVORITE GLASS .
To prevent the wick from falling into the glass, use an old wooden stick and wrap the wick around it. The stick must be wider than the opening in the glass so that you can place it on it.
As a gift or for yourself: the Advent calendar candle
Now put the wick in the glass and position it in the middle. Let the wax harden for a few hours. Shorten the wick a little if necessary. The wick does not need to be higher than 1 little finger wide - otherwise there will be a big flame :)
Now it's time to wait and see for December 1st ! Let the Christmas countdown begin!
